This VF Maloo GTS came in with heavy steering and noise from the front end after a few “enthusiastic” sessions.
So We Investigated
Diagnosis confirmed a burnt out power steering pump — fluid was cooked, aerated and contaminated from excessive heat load
When the car is repeatedly held on the limiter
- Fluid overheats
- Pump cavitates
- Seals harden
- Internal vanes score
And eventually… game over
The Repair that got it back on track…..
We replaced the pump, flushed the entire system, cleaned the reservoir and refilled with correct spec fluid to prevent repeat contamination
Performance cars are built to be driven — but maintenance needs to match the abuse
